The NYC Uke Squad is Spreading Ukulele Love!

Note: See important Updates at the bottom of this page!

Ukulele teacher and YouTube sensation Cynthia Lin and I created The NYC Uke Squad in the fall of 2017, hoping to create a way for Cynthia's local students and any other nearby ukulele players to play together in person and build community. Our intent was to bring Cynthia's then San-Francisco based "Aloha spirit" and uke-love to the NYC area. A wonderful group has grown out of this idea!

We try to jam at least twice a month, in various New York City neighborhoods and venues. All levels are welcome. When beginners are present, the first 30-40 minutes can be devoted to beginner-friendly songs.

The NYC Squad plays many of Cynthia's arrangements, but we don't limit ourselves to any particular source or genre. Attend a jam and teach us your favorite song!

** UPDATE May 2020: In-person jams are currently on hiatus, due to the Coronavirus (C-19) pandemic, but the NYC Uke Squad is now jamming most weeks online, via Zoom. Please join our FB page to find out dates and times!

** UPDATE August 2020: I'm considering offering a monthly Tuesday Play-Along Session on Zoom. Join me as I experiment with this idea! For now, the time is 6-7 pm EST (East Coast, USA),
on the second Tuesday of each month, and I'll create a songbook each month with a mix of my own song sheets/arrangements and favorites from the public files of Cynthia Lin. I'll try to add some new songs each month.

Check out the details on our Tuesday, August 11th Play-Along here:
