🎻 Saturday, June 20: 13th Annual Porch Stomp
Porch Stomp is a free and participatory celebration of Americana, folk music and dance on Governors Island in NYC. Like the past few years, I'll be doing a solo set and also leading a jam with the NYC Uke Squad as part of the Brooklyn Ukulele Festival stage at Porch Stomp. Come by to listen, sing along, or strum with us!

Want to come jam with the NYC Uke Squad in our timeslot? We invite anyone to sing and/or play along. Find us in the gazebo near Castle Williams. We will NOT choose songs in advance, but you can make requests in person, from the songbook, on the day.
If you wish to participate in the open mic, please email the ukulele stage curator gwendolynfitzmusic@gmail.com
🌧️ INCLEMENT WEATHER NOTE: This is a "rain or shine" event. One year it was unseasonably cold, it has definitely rained on us, and it's often quite windy. Check your forecast and consider layers!
OTHER TIPS: There is very little seating on Governor's Island, so plan to bring a lawn chair, towel, or picnic blanket to sit on. Oh, and reserve your ferry tickets soon!

🗽 The NYC Uke Squad was created in 2017 by local musician and teacher Jenny Selig, after a local workshop led by ukulele teacher Cynthia Lin, to bring Cynthia's Aloha spirit and uke-love to the NYC area. Jenny's YouTube channel features over 1500 covers and 400 original songs, as well as playalongs and workshops.
For more information on the Squad click here. Ukulele players in the area are welcome to join our group on Facebook.
